124th Anniversary of the death of Carlo Lorenzini, Sunday 26.10.2014

In Florence, Sunday, October 26, 2014, at 11:30 am at the Monumental Cemetery of the Holy Doors, next to the beautiful Basilica of San Miniato, on the initiative of the Cultural Association Pinocchio by Carlo Lorenzini was commemorated the Florentine author Carlo Lorenzini, also known under the pseudonym Collodi, the 124th anniversary of his death (October 26, 1890 Florence), at the Chapel of the Family Lorenzini.
At the commemoration, in the presence of the Prior of the Church of San Miniato, Padre Bernardo Giani, who expressed profound words of appreciation for the work of the author, and of a delegation of the Carabinieri, commanded by Magg. Antonio Maione and Gabriele Papa, many fans of Carlo Lorenzini and Pinocchio intervened and some personality of the world of the institutions and culture that always appreciate and know the unique value of the story of the famous wooden puppet.
There was the Gonfalone of the Tuscan Region and a unique paper sculpture full aluminum made by the artist Caterina Balletti representing Carlo Lorenzini with the book of Pinocchio.
They were really appreciated the speeches of the Regional Councilor, Eugenio Giani, of the President of the Culture Quarter 1 of the Historical Center of Florence, Mirco Rufilli, of the President of the Association Pinocchio by Carlo Lorenzini, Hon Monica Baldi, accompanied by members Caterina Balletti and Vivilla Zampini, and of the Professor Lucia Lazzerini.
Also present were: the former Prefect of Florence Paolo Padoin, the artist Elisabetta Rogai, the President Lions Anna Iacobacci.
