Quasi Pinocchio

The musical show "Quasi Pinocchio" of the well-known Florentine musician Beppe Dati and Goffredo Orlandi was performed Saturday, March 31, 2017 at 21 at the Teatro Obihall of Florence under the patronage of the City of Florence, Region of Tuscany, the Italian Blind Union, the Cultural Association “Pinocchio by Carlo Lorenzini” and the Carlo Collodi National Foundation.
The initiative is planned as part of the celebrations of the Lions International Centenary (1917-2017) and is considered of particular cultural and social value since the Lions District-Leo108la-Tuscany with this show is trying to finance the project "The intelligent city eye” aimed at helping the blind and visually impaired people with the creation of a specific application for smartphones and tablets.
The application will be developed in a modular way, to allow even subsequent updates and adaptations to the civic and public authorities networks, to enable blind and visually impaired people to move more easily within their own city.
The project is implemented in collaboration with the University of Florence and has as a strength the integration among an advanced navigation system (GPS) and data provided by municipal networks and public transport companies: the application quickly identify the place of interest to reach, identifying where you are and recognizing points of interest such as stations, airports, hospitals, monuments, attractions, museums etc.
